Postman Customer’s Q&A
Postman Features and Benefits
Postman is a collaboration platform for API development that simplifies each step of building an API and streamlines collaboration. Here are some key features and benefits:
-
Postman API: Allows programmatically access to data stored in Postman account. It can perform all the classic CRUD operations on collections, environments, mocks, and more.
-
Postman Echo: A service built as a sanity checker and learning tool. It allows testing REST clients and making sample API calls. The API “echos” back what is sent to it, which is a great way to see what is being sent to a server without having to analyze backend logs.
-
Postman Visualizer: Provides a programmable way to visually represent request responses. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, visualization for the response body can be added right into Postman.
-
Built-in Libraries: Postman has a suite of external libraries available to use in the Pre-request and Test script tabs. These libraries provide functionality not necessarily built into JavaScript.
-
Collaboration Tools: All work is automatically synced to the Postman cloud when signed in to a Postman account. This means access to all collections, requests, and other data anywhere signed in to Postman. Work can also be shared with team members using Postman's collaboration tools.
These features help in streamlining API development, testing, and collaboration, making Postman an indispensable tool for developers.
